Naptara turns two iPhones or iPads into a baby monitor. No Naptara account is required. Naptara contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDK and does not create a continuous cloud recording.

Camera and microphone

Baby Station uses its camera and microphone while monitoring is active. Parent Monitor uses its microphone only when you use push-to-talk. You control these permissions in iOS or iPadOS Settings.

Same-Wi-Fi monitoring

In local mode, your devices discover each other on the same local network and exchange the live stream directly. Naptara does not send local monitoring media to a Naptara server.

Remote monitoring

When you choose remote monitoring, the app contacts the Naptara pairing service. A short pairing code, random room identifier and shared media-encryption key are retained for up to 24 hours. Role-scoped connection tokens expire after 12 hours. These items are used only to establish and reconnect the selected monitoring session.

Live media

Remote video and audio use LiveKit/WebRTC with end-to-end media encryption. The Naptara service can relay the encrypted connection but does not record or intentionally retain video, audio, microphone content or screenshots.

Events and settings

Event timestamps, monitor settings and summaries are stored locally on the device. Continuous video and audio are not stored. Removing Naptara removes this local app data from that device.

Anonymous product analytics

Anonymous product analytics is optional and off until you choose “Share Analytics.” You can change this choice at any time under Privacy & safety. After opt-in, Naptara sends a small allowlisted set of product events, such as a completed pairing, a viewed paywall or a completed purchase. An event contains the app version, app language, device class (iPhone or iPad), source flow and whether Pro is active. It does not contain a name, email address, persistent device or installation identifier, pairing code, audio, video or monitoring content.

The Naptara service immediately adds accepted events to daily aggregate counts and does not retain event-level rows. These aggregate counts are used only to understand whether setup and purchases work. They are not used for advertising, profiling or cross-app tracking.

Technical information

An IP address is processed transiently in server memory for security rate limiting. Naptara's reverse proxy access logging is disabled, and IP addresses are not written to the product-analytics aggregate. Technical processing does not contain live media, pairing codes or media-encryption keys and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions and purchases. Naptara reads the App Store entitlement needed to unlock Pro but does not receive or store payment-card details.

Children and safety

Naptara is used by an adult caregiver and does not require a child profile, name or date of birth. Naptara is not a medical device and does not detect breathing, health conditions or emergencies.
